No need for any professional equipment, just an internet connection and a phone / laptop to record on. Every day you will be sent videos, resources, tasks and practice exercises and at the end of the course you can even submit your clips for personal feedback from Holly.**At Fishpond HQ, we have been discussing important skills that actors should have in their toolkits. One such skill that emerged as essential for all actors is
voiceover. To support our actors' growth in this area, we are excited to announce an upcoming voiceover workshop with renowned acting coach
Holly Renaut. During our

Ali Coffey in July, we were thrilled to receive numerous impressive submissions. The enthusiasm displayed by participants highlighted their desire to dive deeper into the world of voiceover and improve their skills in this craft. As always, our priority at Fishpond is to provide the best support for our actors, and this workshop aims to do just that.

Who is this workshop for?Whether you are new to voiceover or have some experience in the field, this workshop is designed to help you refine your voiceover skills and expand your knowledge across different genres. By the end of the workshop, you will have a newfound confidence in securing voiceover projects.

What will the workshop cover? - Microphone technique: Learn how to make the most of your voice through proper microphone techniques.
- Studio etiquette and best practices: Understand the essential rules and practices when working in a studio environment.
- Introduction to home studio equipment and recommendations: Gain insights into setting up your own home studio and recommended equipment.
- Guides and resources for finding voice work: Discover valuable resources and strategies for finding voiceover opportunities.
- Practical information on working in specific voiceover genres: Explore different voiceover genres such as Corporate, Narration, Publicity/Commercial, Animation, and Video Games. Sample texts will be provided for each genre, allowing you to gain practical experience.
- General information on Dubbing and ADR: Learn about the unique aspects of dubbing and automated dialogue replacement.
- Plus personal feedback from Holly
Additionally, we are excited to announce that after gaining knowledge in the various areas of voiceover, Holly will provide personal feedback on two VO Submissions per genre. This feedback will help you further refine your skills enhance your performance and know how you can improve. We are eager to support you in your voiceover journey and look forward to seeing you at the workshop. Mastering voiceover expands an actor's range, voiceover training hones your vocal delivery, making them more articulate and expressive for your next voiceover project. These refined communication skills are valuable for any acting scenario, whether on screen or on stage, allowing actors to take on a wider variety of roles. This versatility enhances their marketability in the industry and expands their opportunities for work. Voiceover enables actors to explore diverse characters without the limitations of physical appearance. They can portray characters of different ages, genders, and even species, enhancing their creative repertoire.
- Who is Holly Renaut?
Holly has had an international career in theatre, film, and voiceover, both as a performer and as a highly regarded director, dialect coach, and acting/voice instructor. She has worked with thousands of performers all over the world both individually and in production, from those taking their first steps into the industry, to Academy Award nominees, and every level in between. She currently makes a full-time living in the voiceover industry, directing and performing in every genre from series dubbing to commercials, and animation to corporate. In addition to her voice work, she is active
in the industry as a performer on stage and screen, and she co-runs a multi-disciplinary performing arts company, Compass Arts, offering actor training programs and retreats, a recording studio, and a production company.
