Spring Showcase Now Open / Guest Judge Mairéad Campbell

At Fishpond, we always strive to celebrate your talent as best we can - so it's time for our Spring Showcase.

Every Showcase features a guest industry expert as judge, a creative brief, and the chance to share your best work. The most exciting part? Every actor who enters receives individual feedback. Whether you're shortlisted or not, you’ll hear what you did well and where you can grow. Personalised notes from casting and industry professionals, unique to Fishpond.

Our Guest Judge
Lots of Irish language work has been going through the pond in recent weeks, so we wanted to invite a guest judge with experience casting projects as Gaeilge. This spring, the wonderful Mairéad Campbell (founder of West Coast Casting based in Galway) will evaluate your tapes and choose her favourites. Mairéad will also provide personal feedback on her top picks, outlining why she found them so impressive.   

About Mairéad
Mairéad is a casting director who uses Fishpond regularly to cast her projects.  She often works through the Irish language so if you are a Gaeilgeoir, this is a wonderful chance for you to connect and show her what you can do. Projects she's worked on include Báite, Ros na Rún, Foscadh, Smother, Wild Mountain Thyme, as well as many others. She cares deeply about actors and is eager to support you in your growth.

Get Creative
Mairéad has personally selected two script options for your self-tape this spring. For the adults, a scene from the feature film Báite (recently in cinemas), and for younger actors the TG4 series Saol Ella. Both were cast by Mairéad with the help of Fishpond and she knows these scripts inside out. We wanted to offer you the option to do your scene through Irish or English, so you can choose to do the original version as Gaeilge, or an English translation which Mairéad has provided for you.

Get Seen
Mairéad's top talent will be shared directly with our full caster database of over 1,000 industry professionals. This includes casting directors, directors, producers, and production companies across Ireland, the UK, and beyond. In addition, we’ll add a Showcase Winner badge to your Fishpond profile, so that casters using Fishpond can easily spot you. We'll also be proud to share your recording across our platform, in our newsletters, and on our social media channels.

Get Feedback
Every single actor who takes part in the Showcase will receive feedback on their tape. If shortlisted as a top tape, you’ll receive direct feedback from Mairéad. If not shortlisted, the Fishpond team will offer specific feedback on what you did well and where there’s room for you to develop. Following the Showcase results, we'll also hold a live in-depth meetup with Mairéad on Zoom (that you can attend), where she'll share even more insights on your work and auditioning in general. 

No one else is doing this. We believe that actors thrive with clear, constructive feedback, not just a yes or no. Our Showcase helps you grow, builds your confidence, and strengthens your skills. It’s not about competition. It’s about being seen, staying inspired, and levelling up your craft together.
