In Cinemas Now / 3 Films Cast with the Help of Fishpond

Three New Irish Films Hit Cinemas This March

March has been a fantastic month for Irish film, with three exciting productions arriving in cinemas across the country. Báite, Spilt Milk, and No Ordinary Heist each bring something unique to the big screen, from atmospheric drama to sharp storytelling and compelling performances.

We are incredibly proud that each of these films was cast with the help of Fishpond. It is a real testament to the calibre of work happening through the platform and to the talented actors and casting professionals who use it every day.

If you are part of the Fishpond community, these are the kinds of projects your work can lead to. If you are an Irish film fan, now is the perfect time to head to the cinema and support homegrown storytelling.

Báite
In cinemas from Friday 6th March

Irish-language feature Báite opened earlier this month, arriving during Seachtain na Gaeilge and offering audiences a rich, atmospheric story set in rural Ireland.

Set in a small village in the 1970s, the film follows Peggy Casey, a local pub owner whose quiet routine is disrupted when a body is discovered in a nearby lake. The arrival of a Dublin detective sparks an investigation that begins to unravel long-held secrets within the community.

Directed by Ruán Magan and cast by Mairéad Campbell, Báite combines striking visuals with a slow-building sense of tension. It stands as a strong example of the depth and quality of Irish-language cinema today.

Spilt Milk
In cinemas from Friday 20th March

Spilt Milk brings a different tone to the screen, offering a grounded and character-driven story that explores relationships, identity, and the small moments that shape our lives.

Directed by Brian Durnin and cast by Áine O'Sullivan, this is a film that leans into authenticity, with performances that feel natural and lived-in. It captures a distinctly Irish perspective while telling a story that resonates far beyond its setting.

For actors and creatives, projects like Spilt Milk highlight the range of opportunities available through Fishpond. From intimate dramas to larger productions, there is space for all kinds of voices and talent within the industry.

No Ordinary Heist
In cinemas from Friday 27th March

Rounding out the month is No Ordinary Heist, arriving in cinemas this Friday. As the title suggests, this film brings energy, pace, and tension, offering audiences a gripping cinematic experience. Directed by Colin McIvor and cast by Colin Jones, we can't wait to watch this one.

Blending suspense with character-driven storytelling, it showcases another side of Irish filmmaking. The production demonstrates how Irish crews and casts are delivering work that stands confidently alongside international releases.

A Showcase of Irish Talent

Across all three films, what stands out is the strength of Irish talent both on screen and behind the scenes. From directors and casting professionals to actors at every stage of their careers, these productions reflect a thriving and evolving industry.

For us at Fishpond, it is hugely rewarding to see projects of this quality come through the platform. It reinforces what we have always believed, that meaningful, high-level opportunities are being created here in Ireland, and that the right connections can make them accessible.

Support Irish Film

Most importantly, these films deserve to be seen. Irish cinema is in a strong place right now, and audience support plays a huge role in helping it continue to grow.

Whether you are an actor, a creative, or simply someone who enjoys a good story, we encourage you to get out to the cinema this month and support these fantastic Irish productions.
