FP Showcases 2025 / Feedback for Actors

Reimagining the self-tape
The idea for the Fishpond Showcase challenge began with a bold decision during lockdown in 2020. In the early, uncertain days of the pandemic, Ali Coffey and Casting Director Katy Moylan-Shorten came together with one clear goal: to keep actors creative, connected, and visible—even when the industry had paused.

From crisis to creativity
At the same time, we made the decision to pause subscription fees, while continuing to post jobs and increase member engagement. The Showcase was born out of that spirit of support, and it’s since become a core part of what Fishpond offers: real exposure, creative challenges, and meaningful feedback, all included with your membership.

What’s new in 2025?
This year, we’re evolving the Showcase to make it even more impactful. We’ll run four seasonal Showcases—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—so we can give each one the time, focus, and care it deserves.

Every Showcase features a guest industry expert as judge, a creative brief, and the chance to share your best work. The most exciting part? Every actor who enters receives individual feedback. Whether you're shortlisted or not, you’ll hear what you did well and where you can grow—personalised notes from casting and industry professionals, unique to Fishpond.

Why It Matters
No one else is doing this. We believe that actors thrive with clear, constructive feedback—not just a yes or no. Our Showcase helps you grow, builds your confidence, and strengthens your self-taping skill. As always, top performers are shared directly with over 1,000 registered casting professionals on Fishpond, as well as across our platform, newsletter, and social channels. It’s not about competition. It’s about getting seen, staying inspired, and levelling up your craft—together.

Stay tuned for details of our Spring Showcase, coming next week.
