Summary
We are casting a really lovely animated series for a major US broadcaster and made by a multi award winning team and would love your suggestions asap.
This is an animated series for pre-schoolers that is focused on the transition moment from home life to school life. School is the second social system that kids encounter after the family, and the first station in life where they will need to learn how to advocate for their needs on their own, connect with others' needs and include them, become aware of the impact of their choices and attend to conflict. This requires the acquisition of a new set of communication skills, both with self and with others. It's kind of like the office but for 3-year-olds!
Let us know if you have any experience in VO's or animation though not crucial.
We will send sides to selected actors after your initial introduction. Please submit your NDA before sending your introduction. (See audition instructions.)
If emailing please put 'animated series' as subject.
Thanks, Ali X

ROLES
Grace
Playing age: 10 - 16 years old
Her accent is quite similar to her family: neutral Irish without leaning too heavily into any particular regional accent.
For casting, the production team would very much like Grace to be played by an actor who identifies as neurodiverse as Grace's story is not representative of a neurotypical experience. Stories around Grace do not centre on her neurodiversity but it is a part of who she is. :)
(The series creator originally wrote the character of Grace as autistic, but in further development, there are no references to her being on the spectrum so casting can be a bit broader and is open to those who identify with a different form of neurodiversity.)
If you're a guardian who knows a child who would suit this brief, please share all details with them or their parent! They can email us at auditions@alicoffeycasting.ie.
Audition Instructions:
NOTE: As this is an animated series, we would like to only hear actors' VOICES in their audition. To do this, you can record a voice note on your phone and upload it to the brief (auditionmic), or, you can cover the camera on your audition tape so that the actor cannot be seen.
Sides will be sent to actors after initial introductions if you are suited for the role.
All lines should have a warm, friendly, natural delivery at a slow-normal pace. It's for preschoolers and so is a very gentle delivery. :)
****SUBMIT MINOR ACTOR NDA HERE.***
Important tip: Turn the phone sideways and wipe the lens! Be sure to read our auditioncam® tips for success.
Barry
Playing age: 10 - 16 years old
His accent is neutral Irish without leaning too heavily into any particular regional accent.
Casting will reflect the diversity of the show and we encourage actors from under-represented communities to apply.
If you're a guardian who knows a child who would suit this brief, please share all details with them or their parent!

Bert
Playing age: 32 - 42 years old
Uncle Bert is one of the few characters from outside of Ireland. He is welcome to have any accent apart from Irish. :)
As Uncle Bert is introduced alongside his husband, the production team is especially interested in seeing applicants from the LGBTQIA+ community.
