March Mission / Your Acting Mission Statements

In an industry as expansive and unpredictable as acting, clarity is everything.
When you're navigating auditions, self-tapes, gigs that challenge you, and some that don’t, having a mission statement can serve as a grounding force—a personal compass that points you toward the kind of work you really want to do. And that’s more than just a nice idea. It’s essential.
Knowing what drives you creatively, what stories you want to tell, and what you want to bring to this industry allows you to take ownership of your career. It can guide your decisions, connect you with the right collaborators, and keep you anchored in your authenticity when things feel chaotic or uncertain.
A mission statement is more than just a blurb for a bio. It’s a declaration of intent—a reminder of your voice, your values, and your vision. Whether you're a seasoned performer or just starting out, writing one can reconnect you to your "why" and give others a deeper understanding of what you stand for as an artist.
Below, we’re proud to share a selection of mission statements from Fishpond actors who are doing just that: taking ownership of their voice, their path, and their place in this industry. These statements that were created as part of our March Mission are as varied, bold, and heartfelt as the artists behind them. We hope they inspire you as much as they inspire us.
Amanda Stuart
"I love hearing laughter when I audition and when I'm doing the actual job. As a very senior person, I want people to know I can still find joy in everything, even if, physically, I'm a bit creaky. When I approach an audition, I try to find the "thing" that sets me apart from all the other oldies that might be auditioning. Whether I get the part, or a callback, I can show people I'm still alive and kicking, and having fun, no matter what my age."

"I’ve always felt a deep emotional connection to stories; which have helped me navigate change and challenging times in my own life. As an actor, I’m committed to bringing my own truth to every character I play. I want to evoke strong emotions, and allow people to experience the world through a different lens."
Charlotte Rose Keating
"Living life to the fullest is at the heart of everything I do. As an actor, I love immersing myself in diverse perspectives and emotions, experiencing life's richness through the characters I portray. Through these roles, I aim to inspire reflection, empathy, and new ways of seeing the world. My role as a Life, Business, and Creativity Coach, guiding others to unlock their potential and live with purpose, complements my acting work. Both passions weave together—engaging, empowering, and inspiring people to embrace their own stories and create meaningful change in their lives and the world around them."

"As an actor I am very passionate about portraying someone that people can relate to, and making sure I’m telling a story the way it should be told. I like to bring issues I am passionate about to the screen or stage , whether it be issues women face today or teen mental health, that can often be ignored. I like challenging myself and portraying tough topics or experiences as well as making people laugh , whether that be on stage or on screen."
Dominic Lane
"As an actor I want people to be engaged with the story and the character. I want them to feel happy, sad, fear, anger all of of it. Everyday I'm trying to grow as an artist and as a person."
Franco Sambucci
"Every event can change the course of our lives. I've tested about thirty jobs - from teacher to politician to waiter. I started my artistic career as a presenter of fashion shows and Italian comedians, I then worked as an actor in the Rome area. My real life experience along with artistic experience allows me to be a versatile artist. I'm the reincarnation of many lives - from comedy to depression or psychodrama, for me it's a moment - and I'm here to tell all these stories."
Grace Bennett
"I am driven by the power of storytelling to challenge perspectives, spark emotion, and leave a lasting impact. I gravitate toward bold, complex roles that explore the raw, messy depths of the human experience—stories that make people feel seen, question the world around them, and stay with them long after the credits roll. I believe acting is about truth, about stepping into someone else's skin and living their reality so fully that the audience feels it too. I want to tell stories that matter—stories that break barriers, that uplift, that unsettle, that start conversations. I am drawn to characters who are flawed, real, and unforgettable. I strive to bring authenticity, depth, and fearless energy to every performance. Whether on screen or in my bedroom while Radiohead is on blast, my goal is to carve a space for voices that deserve to be heard and stories that demand to be told. I am committed to constant growth, to pushing creative boundaries, and to making work that resonates on a deeper level. At my core, I act because I believe in the magic of film—the ability to transport, to transform, to heal. I want to make people laugh, cry, think, and feel. That is my mission. That is why I tell stories."
Jack
"I love to be able to tell people stories, and acting has its own unique way of telling stories for people to truly understand. What do I bring to the industry? I bring a fresh new face and outlook to the industry, acting in dramas to show my skill, but also comedy to show my humour. Where do I see myself in 5/10 years? I would love to be posted up in Hollywood after my acting gets noticed and I can shine."
Jennifer Breslin
"I care deeply about the human story and experience, as well as our craft that allows us to tell these stories in ways that move, heal, inspire and transform people. My passion is working on beautiful films, telling beautiful stories about beautiful people... and as an artist I love to find the beauty in everything ... I strive to deliver soulful, mind bending, funny and heartbreaking performances on stage and set that provoke and touch people."
Katie Mac Court
"I want to tell stories of the past, present and future. Stories that have been locked in cupboards and hidden under beds. Through these stories, we can heal the world and evolve into more beautiful dimensions, because art can be alchemy. I am a visionary and I want to watch my most mind-blowing visions to come to life. I’ve already seen the stars of my dreams begin to sparkle but there’s a whole world that remains unseen."
Kayleigh Rogers
"I want to tell stories that quiet your world for just a moment & transports you to a new one. You can see it, feel it, smell it, you are in it. I love that feeling."
Leon Bonney
"As an actor and a person I love to tell stories, whether that’s telling a story in general or telling a story through acting. I always loved the idea of a script convincing an audience that a character isn’t who he/she says they are. For example if you’ve seen The Usual Suspects you would understand. I always liked the feeling of being part of a story similar to that where it takes the audience by surprise."
Martin O'Regan
"I came to acting out of a necessity to further understand myself, and this has given me a voice which I can use to interpret characters with a simplicity and depth that audiences can identify with. Whether in comedic or more dramatic roles, I am usually drawn to characters who may be marginalised in some way but whose struggle is real and significant."
Michelle Devaney
"As an actor, I would like to tell honest, true stories of people across the world. I want to play interesting characters who are not one dimensional. I want to continue to learn more about acting and the film industry. I want to meet people that inspire me."
Richie Ryan
"As an actor, I endeavour to act in a nuanced manner and wish to be a true artist. Also to have the courage to bare vulnerability, empathy and humanity."
Roy O'Connor
"My main goal as a performer, as an actor, is to create characters that feel funny, depthful & singular - not just to my own artistic sensibilities but reflects my own state of being. I do not move like most of actors, however I bring my own unique stamp and uncompromising edge to every character that I play. I believe in my strong, consistent work ethic surrounding the creation of a character, conversing and working with the director and fellow cast mates, with an understanding of how to fix any issues. Over the past year, I have worked non-stop on six theatre productions back to back, sometimes working on three projects simultaneously, as well as a web series. Not only did I learn how to juggle the work and maintain consistent quality performances with energy to spare, but I learnt to take care of myself so that I never burn myself out. My goal going forward is to strive for greatness, spark joy and elicit real emotion from an audience."
Stevo Timothy
"I wish to show that disabled actors are not just a disability or there to fulfil a stereotypical role - but are wide ranging, all encompassing artists intent on being the best they they can be."
