At Fishpond, we understand how important it is for actors to hone their craft, sharpen their audition skills, and be seen by industry professionals. That’s why we were proud to have casting director Mairéad Campbell lead our second showcase of 2026, offering actors the opportunity to tape in English or in Irish.
Mairéad carefully selected excerpts from feature film Báite and television series Saol Ella, both cast by her with the help of Fishpond. She challenged actors of all ages to submit a self-tape that showcased their own unique interpretation.
From a wealth of high-quality clips, Mairéad has selected seven standout performances that most inspired and impressed her. Congratulations to all for your dedication, creativity, and bringing something special to your piece. We can’t wait to see where your talent takes you next.

SPRING SHOWCASE STANDOUTS
Watch all seven standouts here and you can read Mairéad’s expert feedback below.

Lorraine Fox
Script: Báite
“Fantastic audition, Lorraine. One of the strongest aspects of your audition was your ability to connect emotionally with the scene while maintaining a relaxed and natural delivery. Your choices felt thoughtful, and they felt genuine and compelling. I really believed you and while I was watching your tape I had forgotten that I had seen this scene so many times before.”

Hanna Savchuk
Script: Báite
“Very strong audition, Hanna. You really drew me in. The performance felt effortless and your presence alone kept me invested. There was no over-acting and nothing was forced, I really enjoyed that – well done.”

Una Ni Channain
Script: Báite
“Maith thú a Una, bhain mé an-taitneamh as an radharc sin. Ba léirmhíniú sach difriúil é ar an radharc ón gceann a thaifeadamar, rinne tú do chuid léiriú féin den radharc, rud atá iontach, agus a sheasfaidh amach. Chreid mé sna beats idir na mothúcháin éagsúla fresin.”

Sarah McCluskey
Script: Báite
“Nice work Sarah, you really took the scene and made it your own, your delivery was really different to others interpretation of it. There was a warmth and authenticity to your performance that made the character feel relatable and human, with personality as if you were someone I knew.”

Lola-Mae McCormack
Script: Saol Ella
“An mhaith Lola-Mae. Bhí sé láidir ón tús agus choinnigh tú m’aird ar feadh an ama. Tá potential iontach agat agus bhí tú an-nádúrtha.”

Noah Williams-Byrne
Script: Saol Ella
“Well done Noah, I enjoyed your last two lines the most. The actions at the end were very strong. You appeared comfortable, confident, and fully engaged throughout. You weren’t over-acting anywhere and it was a very believable scene.”

Autumn Courtney
Script: Saol Ella
“Nice work, Autumn. Lots of energy in the performance. You were full of confidence and you made the character feel unique and interesting. I really felt your frustration watching the scene.”
Thank you again to all who took part, and to Mairéad for taking the time to offer so much feedback. Keep an eye out for our Summer Showcase, coming very soon.
