No subscription. No payment details. Just three weeks to come in, build your profile, explore casting opportunities and see what the new Fishpond has to offer.

For actors who haven’t been on Fishpond in a while, it’s an invitation to come back and see what’s changed. For actors who’ve never joined, it’s a chance to experience Fishpond for themselves.

And if you are already a member, you won’t miss out. We’ll add three weeks to your existing subscription too.

18 Years of Fishpond

There’s a good reason we’re doing this now.

This September, Fishpond turns 18.

18 years ago, Fishpond opened its doors and changed casting in Ireland. We created a new way for actors and casting professionals to find one another.

A lot has changed since then.

Self-taping has transformed casting. Ireland’s screen industry has grown. The way actors present themselves, find opportunities and connect with casting professionals has evolved.

And Fishpond has evolved with it.

Today, actors can build professional profiles, explore casting opportunities, submit auditions, access Stories & Insights, take part in Showcases and be discovered through private caster searches.

So rather than simply telling you how much Fishpond has changed, we’re opening the doors again.

Three Weeks Inside Fishpond

From 21 September, new actors can register and use Fishpond without entering payment details. Former members can come back and see what’s changed. Existing members get the three weeks too.

The idea is simple: use it.

Build or update your profile. Add your latest headshots, credits and showreel. Explore the Projects Board. Read Stories & Insights. Get familiar with the new Fishpond.

And make sure your profile is current, complete and ready to be found.

Not every project appears on the Projects Board. Casting professionals also search Fishpond privately, and sometimes the smallest detail on your profile is exactly what somebody is searching for.

If you’re represented, your agent remains part of the process. All caster contact for represented actors continues to go through your agent.

Take Part in the Autumn Showcase

There’s plenty happening during the three weeks, including our Autumn Showcase.

Our seasonal Showcases give actors something that’s not always easy to come by: the opportunity to create, practise and receive useful feedback on their work.

Actors receive a creative brief and are invited to submit their interpretation. Every actor who enters receives individual feedback, with standout performances selected by our guest industry judge.

It’s not about promising the next job. It’s about giving you a reason to create, practise your self-taping skills, receive professional feedback and keep developing.

We’ll be sharing the full Autumn Showcase brief, scripts, deadlines and details separately.

Fishpond has always been about both sides of casting.

While actors are building profiles, exploring projects and submitting auditions, casting professionals are using Fishpond to search for actors, create projects, receive auditions, build shortlists and manage their casting.

That’s why the details matter.

A strong, current profile helps a caster understand who you are and what you can do. An application puts your profile in front of the people casting a project. A self-tape gives them something more to see.

And sometimes you don’t apply at all. A casting professional searches Fishpond and finds you.
